Explore the History of Arenal Volcano on a Unique Journey

Imagine traveling back in time to 1968, the year when Arenal Volcano was in full eruption.

During this historic event, the volcano launched large rocks at a distance of 5.5 km, at an astonishing speed of 1350 km/h. This activity generated impact craters of up to 25 m in diameter and 4 m in depth. In some areas, 100% of the area was bombarded by volcanic bombs, creating a lunar crater landscape and devastating a total area of 15 km², transforming it into a desolate volcanic desert.

Our tour will take you through the remains of the ancient impact craters, offering a unique opportunity to witness the consequences of this event. Explore the terrain and discover not only the craters but also a river with volcanic mud, providing you with a firsthand experience of the fascinating geological features of the volcano.
